Update 3 - 27/9/19 Tokyo Trip

We had an amazing time recently visiting Tokyo, Japan. We arrived at B-Box’s Planet Movie sound studio to record our in game Japanese character voices for Wasumi’s Dream Adventure. We met with our two favourite voice actors Kazuhiko Inoue who will voice Achu sensei and Hina Kino who will voice Wasumi.

Inoue is a personal favourite of ours at the office, as he is the voice of Kakashi (Naruto) as well as voicing countless iconic characters from other franchises, such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. We really feel he has the smoothest and coolest voice in the world! A perfect fit for Achu sensei.

Hina Kino is our favourite female voice actress, mainly due to her comedic work as Hanako Honda in Asobi Asobase, her performance in that show really stood out to us and made her a sure pick for Wasumi, as she is such a strong and fun character with a unique quality. We also loved Kino’s work on Steins Gate 0 and Sword Art Online.

Everyone was so lovely and polite, it was a true honour to meet our favourite voice actors in the flesh!

We had specially prepared two one-of-a-kind 3D printed figures of Wasumi and Achu sensei, hand-painted by our good friend Maria Priestley (above) and modelled by our digital specialist Thor Hayton (below).

We also engraved their names to say thank you to our voice actors.

It was a sight to behold seeing Inoue and Kino bring our characters' stories to life. We recorded our intro movie sequence, that we will share with you when we launch our Kickstarter on the 12th of November, as well as in game tutorial dialogue and character sounds. We also recorded 10 manga style stories that will accompany the Japanese lessons, that will explain more of the in-depth lore and story behind Wasumi’s Dream Adventure’s characters.

We are incredibly happy with the business conducted by Hino Kina’s agency Amulet and Kazuhiko Inoue’s agency B-Box and all of the staff at the Planet Movie studio, we look forward to working with you all again in the near future. Stay posted for more exciting updates soon.
